WOW! It's been way too long since I've been here...life got really busy the last few weeks.

I got to take a time out of some of the busy schedule when my Mom hired me to makes some cards for a teacher at her work. Unfortunately my Mom is among several school positions being cut and she is loosing her library position at the end of the school year. So is this other lady that she requested I make the cards for. It's a sad, sad thing that we have to cut these people who are educating our future leaders.

So here are the cards I created for her. I made two of each, one of them having a little different picture so I am posting both of those.

Card Recipe:

Holy Cake Balls Batman!

So I've been wanting to try these for some time now, and I took the plunge this weekend. They are not perfect, but oh so yummy! They really weren't hard to make, and I plan to do more...different flavors.

These are Red Velvet Cake balls, which I found the directions and recipe at Bakerella. I've drooled over this site for a while now.

While looking, drooling, and learning about these wonderful cake balls/cake pops...I was directed to these really cool gadgets from Babycakes. I received the mini cupcake maker for Mother's day and am really excited to give it a try soon. So many possibilities to create with these cool little guys!

When I first saw these adorable Peekers, I had to get my hands on them!! Do you have them? You will want them if you don't, they are just too cute! You can get them here at Susana's store along with many other wonderful goodies!! I decided to use this image to create a card for the 2nd challenge at SCACD. This week we needed to have at least one heart and a stamp that was found at Susana's store.

I used this sketch at Unscripted Sketches for their challenge #102 also.

Youth Group Choir Mission Trip - Need your help!

Hello friends and family!

We are reaching out to you for support for the boys and their Church Choir Mission they are taking on this summer.

Jayson will be going to San Francisco with several stops on the way to sing and serve the needy. They will also be performing at Great America! Justin’s group is going to Redding Ca to also sing at several stops along the way and serve the needy along with a fun stop at a water park!

The boys are very excited to take part in this as we are to see them possibly touch some lives with their voices and their help. This is a spendy little trip for them and they need some help!

We would love to invite you to support them in this journey as well.

Here is how you can do this:

1. Buy raffle tickets, you may just be a WINNER!! See the attached picture for details. You can either buy tickets for a 4 night stay in a 7 bed/5 bath home that sleeps 18 people (value of $3000) OR tickets for a 16 GB iPad 2 with Wi-Fi which is new in the box(value of $500), OR both!! 75% of the proceeds go directly to Jayson or Justin. No limit on how many you buy, but they must be purchased before April 20th as we have to turn in the money that day!

2. Donate an item for the Choir Auction which is held April 30th. Item must be new. If you or anyone you know has goods or services that can be donated they would greatly be appreciated. The money from that item will go directly to Jayson or Justin. These donations are a great tax write-off and you will receive a receipt! Please email me for more information, and if you have any questions please let us know. These also need to be turned in by April 20th.

3. Join us for dinner! Action dinner will be April 30th at 5 pm at Portland Christian Center. The cost is $6 for adults, $4 for children under 10. Silent auction will run from 5-6:30 pm. Oral auction will begin at 6:30. Fun will be had by all…come eat and bid!

4. Donate $$ to either Jayson or Justin that will go directly into their mission trip fund!

5. Please, Please share this with anyone who you think would like to help these boys out in fulfilling their mission!

Just wanted to share the fun I had this afternoon....I made another easel card with a box!

I got the pattern for the box here, and just measured for the easel card after the box was made.

I used "Bliss" a Sale-a-Bration stamp and ribbon from Stampin Up!, Music score stamp from Stampendous, a flower from Prima, brads and pears from Recollections, and paper called Madeline from Prima. The box will fit 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 cards inside it.

Here we are again, it's Wednesday! I recently fell in love with this stamp set called Fairies from Recollections and thought this would be perfect to add some hearts to. I also paper pieced the fairy's skirt and added a little flower...she looks like a valentine fairy to me! I think this set will be very versatile, so many ideas for it!

Some of you know over the years I have often thought about joining some kind of Design team, or to be published, etc....well since I've gotten back to what I love...creating....I have been thinking about it again...

I am so excited to share with you that I get to join my friend Danni on her blog challenge Flutter by Wednesday's design team. I am so looking forward to this, as I have found my best work comes when I am challenged, and I can seem to get "it" done. I think this is just what I needed to get motivated, to create, and to enjoy my favorite hobby!

In honor of the Civil War game here in Oregon today, the rival game between Oregon Ducks and the Oregon State Beavers....I decided to make a card using the Unscripted Sketches sketch to honor the team I support....LET'S GO DUCKS!! I love watching this team play, and this year has been amazing as they have been undefeated so far...may they continue and earn that well deserved National title!

I just love the sketches at Unscripted Sketches, they always leave it open for your imagination and creativity to flow. Every chance I get, I work on making a card or some kind of creation using their sketches. This last week I enjoyed creating a card and I was chosen as one of their top 3! Always so fun to see your name and creation highlighted for everyone to see!

In my quest to create Christmas cards, I found a stash of old Christmas scrapbook/card making supplies and decided that they needed to be used...scraps of papers, old embellishments just screaming to be loved and used, items acquired from swaps and of course a little bit of the HUGE stash of ribbon/fibers I have. I was able to create 3 cards yesterday, and have a ton more "OLD" scraps to be used...so stay tuned, we will see just how many cards I can create with the "OLD"

Another Sketch Challenge to play with at Unscripted Sketches!! Here is my version:

I used some paper from one of my new paper pads from Basic Grey called Kioshi and the bloomers that go along with it. These are so adorable! I also borrowed a Martha Stewart butterfly stamp from a friend and glittered it up after coloring it and popping it off the paper. Love these spring colors!

I just love these sketch challenges. I love the ideas from the sketches, but even love more when I'm able to play with them, change them around a bit and make them my own. This one I've kept pretty close to the sketch, but had so much fun making it with some new paper (Green at Heart) from Basic Grey. I just love their paper! I'm also so excited to get to finally use this friends forever saying that I've had for a very long time. It pays to dig throu your stash...especially when you have lots of it...you find things to use that work perfectly!

It's been a while since I've bought a new stamp or anything else, as I have a TON of stuff I've not used for a long time and am trying to get some of it used. I've been eye'ing a stamp like this for some time and decided the other day while in our local stamp store to just go ahead and get it. I've been having lots of fun with it. Along with the stamp I also bought some flower soft and am learning how to use it. I was shown this by Danni when visiting her a year ago but haven't tempted it until now. It was fun, and I look forward to using it more!

Today is my BFF's birthday! I just want to say how blessed I am to have her in my life. She has walked through many stages of life with me, as we've been friends for 16 1/2 years! I created this card for her, as she is what you call "on Edward's team" (Twilight series) hehehe... I used one of Edward's quotes, and also made Edward sparkle! This stamp is one I got from a new found place for me, The Greeting Farm . I just love the digis and the stamps from this place and must get my hands on more!

Thoughts and prayers to the Bindel Family

I created this card for my very special friend Danni who just lost her precious dog Heidi. I know how important our pets are to us and our families and when you have to expirence a loss of one of them it is heartbreaking. It was the least I could do to let them know our hearts, thoughts and prayers were with them. I got to spend a week with Heidi this last summer and she was such a precious girl. God rest your soul Heidi!

It's been a while since I've been able to sit down and create, and I've been really itching to use some of my new stamp sets. Below is a TAC stamp used from the stamp set "All things of Nature". The Wording is from a CTMH stamp set "Because of You". Patterned paper from Daisy D's and Mind's Eye. Cardstock from Bazzill. Ribbon is from CTMH. Brads and metal trinket misc items. Stamp was colored with CTMH watercolor pencils and blended with CTMH blending marker.

This card below was created using an image a friend sent to me. I do not know the name or company.

Patterned paper and Cardstock from CTMH. Ric Rac also CTMH. Image was colored by using CTMH watercolor pencils and blended with CTMH blending pen. Heart on the owl was accented with CTMH liquid glass.

This is a card created for my second Mom and she's also a co-worker. She lost her brother this week. My co-workers always ask me to create cards for any occasion that comes up, and again, for this one. Here's what I came up with. The inside says "Sending you comforting thoughts".

Stamp set by TAC (unsure of name), Paper (Stella Ruby by Basic Grey and Bazzill), Misc ribbon, Butterfly punch by Martha Stewart, and Sparkles and brads from CTMH.

Can you believe it's that time already? Are you thinking of all that you are thankful for? Share that with those who are dear to you while you can. This is the time of year that I really miss having my Mother-in-law here on earth with us. I don't think I ever got to tell her how Thankful I was to have her in my life for the short time that I did. Mom...if you hear me up there...I love you and thank God every day I was able to spend with you. I miss you dearly!

While creating this card from someone who is sending it to her Grandmother, I just couldn't stop thinking of My Mother-in-law and the rest of my family. I am very blessed to have such wonderful family and friends, and need to remember to tell them just that.

This card was created using CTMH's "Give Thanks" set and brads, TAC's Willoughby papers and ribbon, and Bazzill Cardstock. I paper pieced some of the image, and some of it is watercolor pencil.

I found out just how easy it is to use the SheetLoad sketches they put out in their ezine each month. I decided to sit down and make a batch of cards for my G'ma. This made it really quick and easy! I used the Nov. issue and this is what I created. I kept it simple, as G'ma likes it that way!

Pattern paper is from Arctic Frog, Cardstock is Bazzill, Snowman stamp from SU!, Christmas saying and snowflake from CTMH. SU! markers used, Embossing powder, brad, glitter and liquid applique from CTMH.

A birthday card I made for a friend using TAC(Juliette papers, and ribbon), CTMH (flower, sparkles, and birthday stamp),and MM (buckle). This was inspired by a card I found n TwoPeas, but unsure of who made it.

Another image passed on by a friend. I just found out about these Bella stamps recently and just love them! I used my water bursh and ink pads to watercolor the image. The paper is from TAC called Penelopy. The stamp sentiment is from CTMH "The good life". I followed this sketch I found. Again, I'm too late to enter it in the challenge, but I had fun playing with it anyways.

Fall Harvest Girl

I was given an image by a great friend of a TAC Fall Harvest girl along with some other fun images.I was challenged to use one with the colors of brown, orange and yellow and at least two buttons. Being that Orange and yellow are my least favorite colors I wasn't sure what I was going to do, but then I thought, "WAIT!" I LOVE FALL!! So I found fall colors in the orange and yellow family and got to creating! I used this sketch that I found while browsing. I missed out on the challenge there as I just found the site, but hope to try some of the other challenges.

Christmas Card workshop

So it's been a while since I've been able to sit and create, until my friend Deanna wanted to have a Card workshop to teach her friends how to stamp and make cards. This was a great opportunity to do what I love, Create with paper, and Share what I love, teach others how to stamp! There were 10 people that attended, and most of them, this as their first time using stamps and making cards. I believe they all had fun, and walked away with 12 cards they so proudly made.

I've been so busy lately creating cards to sell out of my scraps and such for the fundraiser we are supporting at work that I've not had time to catch up here and share what I've done. I will post a few here, but not all as I've been a card making machine the last few weeks.
